Are phone cameras better than DSLR? – Videography For Beginners

DSLR is often thought as “better” than cellphone cameras.

However, there are some important differences.

In general DSLR cameras are considered much better for professional type projects such as cinematography.

While cellphone cameras are much better for amateur type photography.

How to use DSLR

Nowadays, there are two types of DSLR cameras – Canon/Leica M.

Here, we talk about “digital” and “analog” DSLR cameras.

Digital SLR

These cameras are digital because the electronics on them are more like digital than analogue.

It means that you can shoot in high definition resolution and frame rate in low framerate. So the photos look quite good (on a large screen). In this case, the digital cameras are better for photos.

Generally speaking, DSLRs are considered as great point and shoots camera (with high-definition and high frame rate).

Analog-SLR (aka “film format”)

Analog cameras use film rather than digital sensors. This means that it’s possible to shoot in high definition and high framerate, but only with low resolution.

This is for professional type of photography.

There’s a difference between the two.

But if you’re using a digital camera then there’s no need to choose camera format.

For example, shooting from a DSLR, you can get high resolution photos, with high framerate.

This is useful for amateur-type photography.
