The official English language version of the novel The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is being given a new subtitle, “The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine.”
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be published via Steam on October 3, according to the publisher. This version can be played on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
In fact, the subtitle comes from a quote that has since been changed. The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine was originally titled Bloodlines. The publisher changed it to Blood and Wine when it was published in 2011.
The title is now officially being considered for a global release on October 6, according to the publisher. The Steam version will not arrive until October 9.
The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine is the third entry in a new Witcher series. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings sold more than 2.4 million copies, and the first Witcher game sold more than 4 million copies. The third game in the series, Dark Souls, sold 5.3 million copies.
The latest information on the game comes via The Guardian:
Blood and Wine will be “the first expansion to The Witcher 3 on Xbox One and PS4, and the first Witcher game with three-man servers.”
Blood and Wine will include new quests and story elements, new enemies and monsters, new locations, new quests and an “end-game” mode. There’s also a bonus “master quest” that will add three new levels to The Witcher 3.
Blood and Wine will add about 200 hours of player-led content from the base game of The Witcher 3, The Witcher 2.
In addition, Blood and Wine adds a brand new area of The Witcher 3 in The Wild Hunt called The North. The location was featured in The Witcher 2, but in The Witcher 3, players will find it “as a separate game area.”
