LOUISVILLE, Ky. … Kentucky State University in Louisville, Kentucky — The Kentucky Wildcats have announced the signing of four new men’s basketball recruits: guard De’Aaron Fox, forward Jaron Blossomgame, guard Tyler Davis and forward De’Aaron Fox, Jr.. Fox, Jr., was recruited by former Kentucky Wildcats head coach and current Kentucky Director of Basketball Operations John Calipari. Blossomgame comes to Lexington after signing with Louisville as a sophomore, making him a transfer. Fox comes to Kentucky following an up-and-down junior season in which he struggled. From 2009 to 2010, he averaged 3.1 points and 4.0 rebounds per game across 36 games as he battled injuries to both knees in his career. On Jan. 12, 2011, Fox tore the ACL and MCL in both his knees, and then in late January 2012, suffered another injury, this one his right knee. The Wildcats were without the services of their two leading scorers, Jordan Mickey (left knee surgery) and Jordan McRae (broken hand) for that game, but still beat then 7-14 Memphis Tigers at the Varsity Classic. Blossomgame, a 7-foot sophomore, averaged 17.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game for the Blue Skirts this season, shooting 45.2 percent from the field, including 52 percent from three-point range. The 6-foot-9 guard averaged 2.8 steals per game and 1.7 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.5 assists per contest for the Knights during his three seasons at Lexington High School.
