There are no laws that say you can only hold your dog on leash for 10 minutes while you’re on the street.
The only laws that say you can’t walk your dog anywhere else but on the street are these:
The city of Detroit’s leash law says you can’t be on the city sidewalk after 5 p.m .
. The city of Chicago’s leash law says you can’t be at any other place on a public sidewalk after 3 p.m.
What about traffic laws?
These laws are pretty self-explanatory, so let’s talk about them.
When driving, the following rules apply:
Your dog can follow the car behind you. But, you can’t be in the way.
Your dog can’t be barking. Or, you can’t let the dog bark.
Your dog can’t try to run over a pedestrian or animal crossing your path.
Your dog can’t be leashed or distracted during any of the following: your daily commute, your daily trip on public transportation, a visit to the zoo, a visit to the movies (including the ending) or at the park with your family, or the weekend at the lake.
What are the penalties if you break one of these laws?
Your dog can be fined more than $100 . This is the largest fine you’ll receive in Michigan.

“I’m not here to promote anything,” he says. “I’m not going to do my job until I start saying ‘I don’t have a job’ or ‘I don’t look like a good candidate for this department.’ The one thing I feel strongly and firmly about is my conscience is clear and my heart remains clear. I’ll continue to do my job. I still believe in this office and I still believe in the ideals of this office. If they weren’t, I wouldn’t feel strongly about making this change. I just feel very strongly about it.”
I’ve worked at the FBI for seven years and, during that time, I’ve developed a solid following.
