After a week of speculation and rumors about the “best and final” candidate by UFC President Dana White, UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre will have his choice of a fighter.

White said Monday that UFC officials have narrowed down their final 14-man roster from 15 to 10.

UFC president Dana White announced Tuesday that Georges St-Pierre will make his final decision on Saturday night following a week of rumors and speculation in which UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre had his choice of a fighter or no fighter. USA TODAY Sports

“The UFC is very, very close on this,” White said. “I am happy about that. Everybody wants to know who the UFC is looking at, but they are not saying who they are looking for, other than [Baron Corrales], [Michael] Bisping and [Johny Hendricks].”

Baron Corrales, Mike Bisping and Johny Hendricks were all mentioned as possible final pickouts for St-Pierre. Corrales had publicly said on Saturday night he was likely to pass on the chance to fight St-Pierre, who has spent the past two-plus years defending his title against every single opponent from Anderson Silva to St-Pierre.

Bisping said at the time that he would like to fight “Superman,” who won his title with a split-decision win over Johny Hendricks and has been in UFC since 2012, or “Superman,” who has won his title
