Hiker (Japanese: ノホン Hiker) is a non-damaging Electric-type move introduced in Generation III.

In battle

If the opponent is in the red zone, and a Pokémon in that red zone is attacked by a Hiker, a warning message is shown telling the user that the Attack Power of the attacked Pokémon will be decreased by half.

If a Pokémon in the red zone is attacked by a Hiker, and a Pokémon in the red zone is in the yellow zone, the Hiker will not be able to move on.

Pokémon which begin their turn in the yellow zone on the ground, such as Squirtle or Pikachu, are immune to Hiker. Pokémon in grass are also immune. Hiker is not a status effect, so a Pokémon in Pokémon Refresh and holding a Revive may use Hiker normally.

Hiker is only activated if a Pokémon that entered the red zone that the Hiker attacks in enters the yellow zone again or into the red zone of the red zone of its own base type, e.g., moves such as Flamethrower or Flamethrower does not activate the effect of Hiker. However, if a Pokémon that is in the yellow zone enters a tile containing two other Pokémon in the red zone in their first turn, the effect of Hiker is not used, because such moves do not change their base types.

A Pokémon in the yellow zone does not receive status conditions that would cause it to become sick because of Hiker and may use Hiker normally on its own.
