Here’s a quick recap: The gun gets loaded. That means a pin (or a firing pin if it were a revolver) is released. Then the gun is pulled, the barrel is cocked and the gun then shoots.
What gun types would be able to be used?
The first question is pretty easy; the guns in a movie would have to show up in some version of the popular comic book series, DC Comics, which has featured many different designs. This one is based on a 1911 P.E.I. in the comic book version of the character Red Tornado (think Batman). But it could use a little tweaking in the comic book story, to make it more of a badass gunslinger.
The question is how would these guns be loaded. In the movie the characters are using pistols and it’s likely the same design would be used in a pistol. The movie would have to show that these are “new” guns, not from any of the other DC Universe Comics guns.
The one major rule of gun safety
For a gun safety discussion to be useful, it has to be based on science, not fiction. Most movies are based on books and we know for sure that these are real guns. So that’s the reason why there are no realistic-looking guns in action movies. This one is based off a 1911 P.E.I. in the comic book version of the character Red Tornado (think Batman). But it could use a little tweaking in the comic book story, to make it more of a badass gunslinger.
The only real rule of gun safety is that people who have actually been shot are in the audience. So when there’s a gun, there needs to be someone shooting at it, even if it’s fake. And the movie doesn’t need to be on public television so the audience won’t know about it.
When it comes to characters shooting each other, this is one of the only movies that I can honestly say is based off real life. The movie just has to be an absolute thrill ride with the right gun. This is a great example of a movie that is able to be made today. The characters were real! And it was made for the American people.
