You could be a freelance wood turner or a crafter for a living.

But you’re not.

It doesn’t matter what style your shop is built in.

For every ten projects you make you could make six dollars a year in the traditional business.

(But you could also make more making a commission based on a piece of wood sold — which is another story.)

Not only that, you could be an expert crafter and selling custom projects too.

Here’s a good rule of thumb about selling a custom project:

If your piece of work is not in a museum, then you are a real expert!

They are the same projects and projects I made myself without much knowledge and with a lot of trial and error.

There was almost no budget involved except the time and materials I had.

But because I didn’t use a professional or an existing custom shop I knew each project was custom (for the job).

All these projects are worth around a thousand dollars (or $1,500 in today’s money).

That’s not to say that a lot of people can’t do custom projects for about the same amount of money (or maybe even less).

Here are two key things which you have to remember when selling your wood furniture and/or wood projects.

You will make far more money if you sell wooden things (like your table) or wood projects (like a table with a custom designed chair).
